3 Task-Specific Robots You Should Know About

It is true that robots are designed to make our lives easier. While none of them still is as impressive as Rosie from the Jetsons, technology has still managed to create robots that are impeccable at the jobs they do. We are listing below, some of the most amazing task-specific robots invented:

The Robot that Shampoos Hair

Panasonic built the Head Care Robot. It comes with a built-in sink and chair. Once you sit on the chair, the smart robot will scan the shape of your head. Once that done, the machine dispenses water and shampoo – next thing you know, a set of 24 robotic fingers is working on your hair. 16 out of those massage your scalp clean, while the remaining 8 give you a proper neck massage.  The process that follows entails a rinse, conditioning, massage again, rinse again, and eventually a blow dry! Isn’t that amazing?

The Robot That Comforts the Dying

The extremely controversial Last Moment robot created by Dan Chen (an artist and engineer) actually consoles and comforts dying people. The robot recites out a recorded speech that has ignited much discussion over this function of robotic care. It is an extreme version of robots designed for old age care, and often highlight the fact that there are certain things like compassion that are alarmingly drying out of the society.

The Teddy Bear Robot That Stops Snoring

This robot resembles a big pillow, and is certainly intended to be slept upon. It is called Jukusui-kun (Deep Sleep). Its super powers? The robot can sense snoring! It was developed in Japan by a team from Waseda University. The Deep Sleep robot is designed to aid people suffering from sleep disorders. It effectively detects the change in the sleeping person’s oxygen level or any other breathing anomalies; pats the person softly on the face making them change their position.

These robots are fun to learn about and a bit weird too, but science has made considerable progress in developing them. Similar to the technological advancements above, science has also progressed with the innovation in industrial robots.

As companies replace their used robots with newer ones, a parallel market for refurbished robots emerges. This has allowed small scale businesses to opt for affordable automation. Used Robots Trade provides quality refurbished robots and robotic spare parts for sale – visit their website for further details.
